KP Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (LG&RD), Inayatullah Khan has said the provincial government has finalised preparations to conduct local bodies' elections and schedule would be announced in the next month.
He expressed these views during question-answer session of the participants of the training course on "Local Government and Rural Development" held at National Institute of Management, Peshawar. Those present on the occasion were Minister for Local Government, Balochistan, Ghulam Mustafa Tarin, Secretary Local Government, Sindh, Kazim Niaz, Secretary Local Government, KP, Hafz-ur-Rehman, DG, National Institute of Management, Nighat Mehroz and concerned officials from all four provinces of the country.
The secretaries of local governments of KP and Balochistan briefed the participants in details on local government system, ordinance, elections conducted in Balochistan, municipal committees, municipal corporations, metropolitan corporations, local government ordinance, local government funds, revenue generation, utilisation of funds, administrative matters, powers, village councils, neighbourhood and participation of women in local bodies polls.
