Chief Justice Islamabad High Court, Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi on Wednesday strongly condemned the killing of innocent people in the terrorists attack on District Courts, Islamabad. The Chief Justice chaired a condolence reference held at Islamabad High Court, wherein Fateha was offered for the departed souls. The legal fraternity strongly condemned the tragic incident and demanded the arrest of the accused involved in the attack.
The lawyers asked both the federal and provincial governments to ensure a foolproof security at all courts and judicial complexes so the legal fraternity can work in a secure environment and help deliver justice to the public.
According to sources, a two-member committee constituted by the Chief Justice Kasi to probe into the tragic incident of firing and suicide bomb blasts in Islamabad District Courts has not started its investigation so far. The sources revealed that the Supreme Court (SC) has taken notice of the incident and the matter is being heard by the SC so the committee is waiting for the SC directions on the matter. They further revealed that the committee would follow line of action to be laid by the SC.
It is pertinent to mention that the Chief Justice has constituted a committee to probe the tragic incident of firing and suicide bomb blasts in Islamabad District Courts, which claimed at least 11 lives including Additional Session Judge, Justice Rafaqat Ahmad Awan and three lawyers.
The two-member committee comprises Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Registrar Islamabad High Court. The Chief Justice directed the committee to start inquiry of the incident immediately and submit its report along with recommendations to the Chief Justice office.
