Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) witnessed 46 per cent increase in value traded on Thursday. Total value of trade went up to PKR 3,056 million from PKR 2,091 million on Wednesday. Number of lots traded increased to 14,207 from 10,230. However, PMEX Commodity Index was down by 0.25 percent and closed at 3,262 level. Major business was contributed by crude oil amounting PKR 1,729 million, followed by gold (PKR 1,284 million) and silver (PKR41 million).
While there was 50 percent increase in crude oil volume to PKR 1,729 million from PKR 1,153 million, there was also an increase of 45 percent in gold to PKR 1,284 million from PKR 883 million.
