Disciplinary action against police officers: Shahid Hayat submits report to Supreme Court

Karachi Police chief Shahid Hayat has submitted a report in the Supreme Court (SC) pertaining to action against police officers over their negligence in the ongoing targeted operation in the metropolis. In the report, it is stated that disciplinary action against 115 investigation officers was initiated after the apex court's reprimand.
The report says show cause notices were issued and reply was sought from 35 CIA officers. It also mentioned harsh punishment for 46 and minor punishment for 69 investigation officers.
Demotion, forced retirement, slash of salaries, decrease in seniority are included in the major punishments while, ban on increase of salaries and written warnings are minor punishments.
