Leaders, in the context of Statehood, are supposed to be visionaries, proactive, decisive, who take initiative, provide leadership and direction to the nation. The entire crop of Pakistani leaders, institutional heads and politicians, woefully lack these attributes, the most glaring examples are the current rulers, particularly, the PML - N self - serving coterie of rulers and their subservient side - kicks.
The most pressing issues of Pakistan, are 1. Terrorism, 2. Economy and 3. Governance, covering the entire gamut of affairs of the State, internal, external, administrative and management, all inclusive and see what a hash the government has made of these critical issues. The country is being ripped apart and the rulers are on Nero's flute.
The past 5 years of civilian political rule of the country, PPP's 5 years and about a year of the currently PML - N incumbent government, are nothing but the most disastrous, dismal and pathetic examples of failures of civilian rule in the entire chequered history of the country, marred by the worst kind of misgovernance, rampant corruption, incompetence and indecisiveness.
Similarly, the 3 year and 6 year respective tenures of the former chief justice and army chief, are no better. The performances of the ex- heads of other wings of the armed forces, also present a dismal picture.
