Additional Secretary Communications Aurangzeb Haq has said that development vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif envisions speedy development in the communications sector. He expressed these views while talking to Zye and Tan-Guo Fu, the heads of two leading Chinese companies CRBC and CSCEC respectively. On this occasion, Chairman NHA Shahid Ashraf Tarrar, Member Planning Raja Nosherwan, and other high officials were also present.
Aurangzeb Haq discussed with the two delegations matters relating to Pak-China Corridor. Head of CRBC in Pakistan Zye, while replying to a question, said his company could submit feasibility report, design and survey of Rai Kot to Islamabad Road Section by June 30, this year, whereas Chinese engineers had already reached Pakistan to start off the construction work.
Head of the CSCEC, Tan-Guo Fu said his company could start construction work on Lahore-Karachi Motorway this year; the design work was already completed and land acquisition for the project was yet to be completed. Additional Secretary Communications assured the delegation that land acquisition would be completed soon and said the government intended to expand the road network to neighbouring countries to facilitate trade, tourism, industry and agriculture of the country that would ultimately boost the economy.
Chairman NHA Shahid Ashraf Tarrar, while talking to the heads of the companies elaborated the role of NHA in materialising the goals set in Pak-China Corridor and further said China was a trusted partner of Pakistan that had major contribution in rapid progress of Pakistan. The Chairman said such high level meetings would contribute to further promote mutual understanding.-PR
