Advisor to Chief Minister for Prisons, Malik Qasim Khan has said that besides establishment of a special force for provision of foolproof security to prisons and prisoners, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is making prisons bomb-proof and the recruitment of 2200 personnel in this regard would be made pure merit.
He expressed these views during his visit to Public Complaints' Cell in Chief Minister's Secretariat. On this occasion chairman, Complaints' Cell, Haji Dilroz Khan and vice chairman, Mukarram Khan was also present. Receiving complaints of the people, the advisor to chief minister said that revolutionary reforms are being introduced in prisons. Under the system, he said CCTV cameras are being installed in prisons and the project of camera installation in Mardan Jail will be completed by the end of next month, which will be followed by installation of such cameras in other prisons of the province. He said that besides provision of fool-proof security to prisons it will also help redress complaints regarding maltreatment of prisons, corruption and other complaints. He said that it would also bright the physical labour of prisoners to an end and the food of prisoners will be improved.
