Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Shaukatullah has said that the sacrifices and services of the tribal people are highly valuable and well acknowledged and these would always be remembered with admiration. He said the tribal people have practically proved that our beloved country is dearest to them more than their own lives.
He expressed these views while talking to a representative delegation comprising elders from Bajaur Agency who called on him at the Governor's House on Wednesday. The delegation led by Malik Haji Bahadur Shah was comprised of Malik Haji Qadar Khan, Mian Masood Jan, Malik Haji Juma Saeed, Malik Sultan Zaib and others. Additional Secretary to Governor, Mohammad Dawood was also present on the occasion. The delegation apprised the governor of the problems and difficulties which the people of Bajaur have been facing.
The governor assured the delegation of taking necessary action to address their grievances. Governor said that more development schemes in FATA would be included in the next Annual Development program for the uplift of the tribal people. The members of the delegation also lauded the efforts of the Governor in regard provision of services to the tribal people and for the ongoing development schemes in FATA and offered their services for the restoration of the peace in the region.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Shaukatullah hosted a farewell dinner in the honour of outgoing IGFC, Major General Ghayur Mahmood here at Governor's House Peshawar who has transferred from the province recently. Addressing the farewell dinner Governor paid glowing tributes to the outgoing IGFC and said that the services rendered by him would be long remembered. He said that the way outgoing IGFC guided, motivated and encouraged the soldiers were highly praise worthy.
During his farewell address IGFC said that the period he spent in FC was the best period of his service and he was proud of it. He asked the officers to work hard with full devotion in order to maintain the standards of FC. The Governor expressed the hope that the coming IGFC, Major General Muhammad Tayyab Azam will also safeguard and defend the national interest in the same praise worthy manner and said that he will also put all his endeavours to perform his responsibilities effectively to train and guide the soldiers. Besides, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Parvez Khattak, Corps Commander, Peshawar, Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani, Major General Muhammad Tayyab Azam and others were also present on the occasion.
