A large number of people comprising women, children and men on Friday held a protest outside the Karachi Press Club against the government for its failure to bring peace, and against the killing of innocent people on Wednesday's fighting between two gangs in Lyari.
The participants, carrying placards and banners, were chanting slogans against Sindh government. They were demanding registration of a case against the Chief Minister of Sindh. They demanded of authorities and the civil society to come forward to save the poor people, including children and women, who were the worst victim of the street battle between gangs in Lyari.
A woman told media persons that Federal Government should take action against the provincial government to stop atrocities in Lyari. Leaders demanded of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and DG Rangers to come forward with positive approach and help stop violation of human rights in Lyari. They also demanded deployment of rangers in Lyari for restoring peace.
