Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) witnessed another 13 percent decrease in the value traded on Friday. Total value of trade declined to PKR 3,576 million from PKR 4,110 million recorded on Friday. Number of lots traded went down to 14,774 from 18,975. However, PMEX Commodity Index was up by 1.08 percent and closed at 3,169 level.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 2,129 million, followed by crude oil (PKR 1,357 million) and silver (PKR 89 million). While there was 10 percent increase in gold volume to PKR 2,129 million from PKR 1,941 million, there was a decrease of 33 percent in crude oil value to PKR 1,357 million from PKR 2,035 million.
