Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday announced cash compensation for the people of drought-hit areas of Thar. The Prime Minister has announced this package for around 78,000 victims to make them capable of buying commodities by its own. The Prime Minister said poverty‚ disease and lack of ration added to the woes of Thar victims. He also directed that beneficiaries of Income Support Programme should be given three times higher compensation in the next six months.
