Country can cater some 60 percent energy requirements through introducing energy saving technology besides gaining maximum productions. "Although energy crisis is stumbling block in the way of extracting maximum benefits from GSP Plus status, however, with the help of energy saving technology many benefits may be gained from agriculture, textile, and other value added sectors."
These expert views were expressed by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) FAKT Exhibition (PVT) LTD, M. Saleem Khan Tanuli, while talking to newsmen during inaugural ceremony of 10th International Plastic, Printing, and Packaging industry Exhibition 2014 organised by FAKT Exhibitions Pakistan in Karachi here on Tuesday.
He said the event is hosting over 200 exhibitors from around 20 countries including Austria, China, India, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey ,UAE, UK, USA etc, and some 200 exhibitors from all over Pakistan. All these companies are using this platform to promote sales of their products and also to employ local agents, he said and added. that this exhibition will function as a catalyst to bring together consumer and manufacturers of plastic products.
"We have noticeable participation from foreign companies as this event will be an ideal platform to explore the potential in Pakistani market. Companies are displaying machineries in various areas including Injection molding, extrusion, blow molding and rotational molding, plastic packaging machinery & food technology, equipment and services.", he said.
According to international study, he said, the global plastics industry has recorded average annual growth of nine percent since 1950. In the past 30 years alone production has grown by more than 500 percent. Global production increase during 2007-15 is forecast by five percent. In actual production terms, this represents an overall global production level of 330 million tones by 2015, Salim added.
The show is being held along with Food + Technology Pakistan, International Food Equipment and Technology Exhibition, providing a fantastic opportunity for manufacturers and dealers to benefit from end users he said. "The aim of this exhibition is to introduce better technology in the country. We can enhance our agriculture exports through adaptation of latest technology said Chief Executive of K. Group of Companies, Kafeel Shekh on this occasion.
He further said that the aim of this exhibition is to facilitate agriculture sector, which is main focus in this exhibition, adding that through advanced technology, in agriculture field, we can preserve products which are being wasted due to lack of latest equipments in country." Owner of Sunny Company, Haji Ikhlaq said the local producers may avail the facility of energy saving technology to overcome energy crisis. On the first day the event recorded visits of officials from government, consulates, business chambers and trade associations. The exhibition ends on March 20.
