Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak, has urged on administrative secretaries of all departments including law to make legislation on the basis of public benefit, experience and comparison and avoid framing such rules and regulations, which in future can prove harmful for the public.
Presiding over the meeting of the provincial cabinet here in the Cabinet Room of Civil Secretariat on Thursday, expressed satisfaction over progress on legislation aimed at discouraging corruption, nepotism and incompetence in the public sector organisations.
He said that due to these laws and punishments will even frighten of misappropriation of official fund, benefiting relatives and incompetence. He said now if any teacher or doctor remains absent from duty face punishment and will become precedent for others.
Similarly, he said the conditions and performance of hospitals and public service institutions will also be further improved.
The chief minister said unfortunately in past the culture of legislation and its implementation was never strengthened at public level, which played havoc with our social matters. He made it clear on authorities that there is no space for any kind of mistake in the critical matters like legislation as the ultimate victims of it would be the people. He said the objective of their measures is the provision of maximum relief to the people within the limited available resources.
He admitted that in the beginning the performance and conditions of no institution was up to mark. But, phase-wise improvement has been witnessed and felt in this regard. However, he said they will become satisfied when people themselves will admit acknowledge these changes.
