Ummah Welfare Trust (UWT), a UK-based charitable organisation distributed a food package worth of Rs 16million among drought-hit people of Tharparkar in Sindh. According to a press release issued by media cell of UWT here on Monday, the food commodities, containing a 20-kg wheat-flour, five-kg sugar, a packet of five-kg cooking oil, pulses and other essential daily usage grocery items distributed.
Mohamamd Idress Chairman UWT while speaking to volunteers on telephone from United Kingdom said the organisation is carrying out relief operation with a real zeal to provide immediate facilities to natural-calamity-hit people of Tharparkar of Sindh. He further added the affected people are like brothers for us, and we would extend every possible service in their time-testing situation, to show rest of the world that the Muslim Ummah is united and realises each other's pain and difficulties.
