Cricket fever has gripped the country eversince the start of the World T-20 tournament in Bangladesh. The Federal Capital is no exception. The enthusiasts here have compelled the traders to make special arrangements for the important match between Pakistan and West Indies today (Tuesday).
The cricket fever is on the rise as the upcoming match will decide the fate of Pakistan on the basis of run rate where West Indies is having a slight edge. In support of the national team funfairs, galas and big screens will be seen everywhere in the twin-cities. People's temperature will rise and fall with each ball and a win will give bike riders a chance to show their masterly acts. The certain corporate entities of the federal capital have made special arrangements for screening the match between Pakistan and West Indies cricket teams for the enjoyment of public.
The business units and corporate sector of federal capital have installed big screens at major points to provide the residents stadium-like atmosphere, so that they could watch and enjoy the match together. Youngsters of a prominent private university in Blue Area told this scribe during his visit to various markets that they were anxiously waiting for Pakistan-West Indies match, as they were quite optimistic about Pakistan's victory over West Indies.
Keeping in view the current performance of Pakistani cricketers, they said that there is a great chance of wining ICC World Twenty20. Meanwhile, Ufone, the highly patriotic telecom company, supports one of the most crucial matches in this ICC World Twenty20 with screenings in nine different cities across Pakistan. The match today is between Pakistan and West Indies, current world champions, and this match is a must-win to get through to the semi-finals which is a competition between the four top teams. Both Pakistan and West Indies are in great form but are also highly unpredictable teams - and this match will be an ultimate battle between the former's bowling strengths and the latter's excellent batting prowess.
A statement of the company said that the match will start at 6:30 pm PST and screening will be held in various localities and marketplaces of cities such as Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Hyderabad, Sialkot, and Sukkur and will be open to the public. Ufone will make this event as lively as possible by having various activities, ie bringing in dhol players, placards, and music etc.
