One more polio case surfaces in Bannu

Another polio case surfaced in Bannu on Thursday after which the toll mounted to 40, most of which belong to KP and Fata. National Institute of Health (NIH) sources said a young girl, Sumera, d/o Zahidullah, hailing from Bannu, was affected with polio virus. Since January 01, 2014, 40 polio cases have been detected across the country, of which most belong to Waziristan, Khyber Agencies, other areas of Fata and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Tribal areas where anti-polio vaccination has been declared prohibited by militants were affected most of polio virus.
