Babar Azam eager to realize his Lords dream
As the visitors drill ahead of first Test match against England at the historic venue, Pakistan top order batsman Babar Azam has said that it was his dream to play at Lords cricket ground and perform for his side.
“Lords has a particular significance as it is the birthplace of cricket and it has always been my dream to play there and perform well for Pakistan. We are hopeful to play well and make the nation proud,” said Babar, while talking to local media ahead of Pakistan’s warm up match with Liecester.
Speaking about the practice session ahead of match with Liecester, Babar revealed that they are particularly working on their batting, as the conditions suit the fast bowler.
Earlier, Pakistan’s former captain Salman Butt had said that the relatively young visiting side is expected to face a number of issues in the upcoming two Tests series, mainly due to unavailability of Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan.
“The squad’s inexperience in early-summer English conditions will be a big problem. Especially given the fact that we will be missing the services of Misbah and Younis,” said Salman, quoted Sky News.
Pakistan will be facing England for the two Test series, with the first Test match scheduled at the historic Lord’s on May 24.
