The Youth Affairs Department of Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been in the process of organising many unique activities in the province. One such activity is the "Inter provincial Youth Exchange Programme". The first phase of this activity includes a 25 student's visit to Gujranwala and Lahore tomorrow (7th April). The students have been nominated by their respective students and both private and public institutes have participated in this frivolous programme.
Speaking about the youth promotional activities the Secretary Youth Affairs, Ahmad Hassan stated that "the scheme has been prepared to engage youth in healthy activities that shall not only help them in recreational activities but also nurture their creative abilities in becoming responsible citizens of the province," he further said".
These activities are in line with the policy of the provincial government which aims to create conducive environment for youth of the province and train them for future challenges by broadening their mental faculties and physical endurance."
The Minister Youth Affairs Mehmood Khan said "It is usually the private institutes that have sent their students to other provinces to interact with youth of other provinces, while the public institutes were always neglected but the Department of Youth Affairs have taken this great initiative and it is for both male and females."
The students delegation will visit many historical, cultural and heritage sites and will meet with members of Provincial Assembly, the Secretary of Youth Affairs Punjab and the Minister of Youth Affairs Punjab. The second phase of this activity will take place at Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Sindh. Another activity that took place today (6th April) was "Cultural Heritage Awareness Programme" which includes a weekly students tour to the heritage sites of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Students from City University participated in this study tour and visited Julian Monastery.
