Since every one is moving towards Artificial Intelligence (AI), the professional networking site LinkedIn has decided to do so too by launching a program ‘AI Academy’ aimed to educate employees.

The AI Academy, introduced by LinkedIn, is not meant for the users but instead for the employees to inform them about the technology and how it can be integrated into their work, explains Android Headlines.

The head of science and engineering at the platform, Craig Martell, explained that the AI Academy is a respond to the fact that educational institutes aren’t teaching graduates AI skills quickly enough. Thus, rather than hiring new graduates in that area, LinkedIn is teaching its own employees about the particular field.

LinkedIn just made job searching a lot more fun

The employee training will be led by AI experts that work as part of LinkedIn’s AI team already. Training will be provided at different levels within the firm for different job roles, with special consideration for how the technology will affect the various roles at the company.

The levels will be split into four. Level 1 titled ‘Product/Engineering Manager Awareness’ will be focused on designing and managing an AI project related to the employee’s specific job. Level 2, will focus on partnerships with relevance teams. Level 3 centers around building AI products within a team for which LinkedIn has introduced various courses. The last level 4 is a foray into the ‘State of the Art,’ taking trainees to the bleeding edge of the technology.

Moreover, the social media platform is also spending a large amount of effort on introducing the employees with a strong foundation for ethics and train employees on how to approach AI ethically. With its AI Academy, LinkedIn aims to expand the program broadly, for example, to recruiters who work with the LinkedIn Engineering and salespeople who work with technology clients, reported ZDNet.
