The Punjab Government on Tuesday approved twenty-two development schemes of different economic and welfare sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 34,038.914 million. These schemes were approved in the 38th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party of current fiscal year 2013-14 presided over by the Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Muhammad Irfan Elahi.
Provincial Secretary P&D Arif Anwar Baloch, all members of the Planning and Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant Provincial Departments also attended the meeting. According to spokesman P&D, the approved development schemes include:
1. Re-Designing and Up-Gradation of Under-Construction Building of Murree Arts Council, Murree. (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 7.000 million;
2. Establishment of 60 Bedded Hospital at Sabzazar Scheme Lahore at the cost of Rs 287.502 million;
3. Provision of Missing Specialties for Up-Gradation of DHQ Hospitals (AIMH and GSBH Sialkot) to Teaching Hospitals at the cost of Rs 2,054.460 million;
4. Survey, Soil Investigation and Detail Architectural/Structural Designing of Construction of Parking Plazas with Shopping Malls at Faisalabad (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 599.041 million;
5. Construction of Canal Express Way from Gatt Wala Bridge to Sahian Wala (M-3) Interchange, Faisalabad (length=24.50km) at the cost of Rs 5,825.351 million;
6. Construction of Metro Bus Transit System for Lahore-Ferozepur Road Corridor, Package-II Construction of MTS from Kalma Chowk to Qartaba Chowk (Elevated Section) length-4.9 km (Revised) at the cost of Rs 5,966.902 million;
7. Complete Repair and Renovation of Sewerage System Including PCC. Drains, Water Channels, Soling, Tuff Tiles, etc, in Basirpur, District Okara at the cost of Rs 277.734 million;
8. Dualization and Beautification of Mianwali Muzaffargarh Road passing through Chowk Munda from km No 226.50 to 229.50 length 3.00km District Muzaffargarh at the cost of Rs 209.150 million;
9. Construction of Southern Bye-Pass Muzaffargarh-Alipur Road to Dera Ghazi Khan Road (N-70) length-9.25km District Muzaffargarh at the cost of Rs 282.867 million;
10. Lahore Ring Road (Package-10) Construction of Interchange at GT Road (Revised) at the cost of Rs 1,929.595 million;
11. Lahore Ring Road Construction of road Portion from Niazi Chowk to Mehmood Booti (Package-3) (2nd Revised) at the cost of Rs 3,212.651 million;
12. Lahore Ring Road (Package 11A) Widening/Improvement of Ghazi Road from Package-11 of LRRP to Rehman Villas including Improvement of Bhatta Chowk at the cost of Rs 213.106 million;
13. Lahore Ring Road Construction of Link to GT Road at Daroghawala (Package-13A) (Revised) at the cost of Rs 288.468 million;
14. Lahore Ring Road Construction of Interchange at Bedian Road (length-1.40 km) (4th Revised) (Package-15) at the cost of Rs 2,185.002 million;
15. Lahore Ring Road Construction of road portion from Bedian Road Intersection to Khaira Distributary (2nd Revised) (Package-16) at the cost of Rs 868.202 million;
16. Lahore Ring Road Construction of road along Khaira Distributary from Package 17 to Ferozepur Road (length-3.16km) (2nd Revised) at the cost of Rs 496.450 million;
17. Construction of Kasur Bye-Pass Connecting Ferozepur Road with Depalpur Road (length 9.6-km) at the cost of Rs 1,541.000 million;
18. Construction of Kasur Sports Complex, Khem Karan Road, Kasur at the cost of Rs 377.430 million;
19. Construc-tion-Improvement of Maulana Shaukat Ali Road to Multan Road via Kareem Block Market at the cost of Rs 1,765.435 million;
20. Widening and Improvement of Main Road Sheikhupura at the cost of Rs 2,444.498 million;
21. Construction of Link Connecting Motorway at Shahpur Kanjran to Raiwind Road and Khayaban-e-Jinnah, Lahore at the cost of Rs 2,314.570 million; and;
22. Construction of Underpass at Sheikhupura Gujranwala Road and Sheikhupura Hafizabad Road, Sheikhupura at the cost of Rs 892.50 million.
