According to a statement issued by the spokesman for banned Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP), Shahidullah Shahid, the government has shown no progress regarding the release of Taliban prisoners and declaration of a 'peace zone'. Shahidullah Shahid said that Taliban are serious in holding talks with the government but the action against TTP activists across the country continues that is intolerable.
The TTP spokesman said that no Taliban prisoner has been released as per the list forwarded to the government while the government is turning a blind eye to its demands. He demanded of the government to release non-combatant prisoners unconditionally and announce the setting up of free 'peace zone' so that the negotiation committees could travel without any danger.
