Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) witnessed an increase of 10 percent in the value traded on Thursday. Total value increased to PKR 3,430 million from PKR 3,106 million on Wednesday. The number of lots traded were recorded at 17,031 and PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,006. Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 1,813 million, followed by crude oil (PKR 1,460 million) and silver (PKR 156 million). While there was 196 percent increase in gold volume to PKR 1,813 million from PKR 613 million, there was also 97 percent increase in silver value to PKR 156 million from PKR 79 million.
