Samsung to launch Galaxy S8 Lite today as Galaxy S Light Luxury
Turning the leaks and rumors true, Samsung is finally launching its Galaxy S8 Lite variant today, whose design is similar to the original Galaxy S8 but with mid-range specifications.
The information of the launch was reported by Chinese website IT Home, spotted through the 100 media invites sent by Samsung for its launch event. The smartphone, which is now called Galaxy S Light Luxury, is being launched in Beijing, China. With some minor alterations in the specs, the phone bears design akin to Galaxy S8 launched last year.
Like Galaxy S8, the phone features a 5.8-inch Infinity Display with a physical Bixby button. The fingerprint sensor is also placed beside the phone’s camera. However, unlike the original flagship, Galaxy S Light Luxury does not feature the heart rate sensor.
A mid-range Galaxy S8 Lite might come in this month
Apart from that, the usual specs of the phone, according to reports, include 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, 16MP rear with 8MP front camera, 3,000mAh battery life and Android 8.0 Oreo, reported BGR.
It has been reported that the device be released in China for now and will be available in two colors, black and burgundy red. Worldwide released date has not yet been revealed.
