Opening of over 3,000 closed schools: government planning to hire 20,000 teachers: Nisar
Senior Provincial Minister for Education, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that Sindh government was planning to hire 20,000 teachers which would help them to open more than 3,000 closed schools in the province. He said this while talking to media after attending the Second Educational Convocation of Bravos Cadet Schools System held here on Sunday.
"All appointments of teachers would be made on merit," he said, adding the schools were closed due to different reasons in the province, which to some extent had been resolved so far. Due to this, many closed schools had been opened where the children were getting their education, he said.
Replying to a question on the copy culture in Ninth and Tenth exams, he said that copy culture was very old issue and it would take some time to be resolved. "If we succeed to resolve it by 30 per cent, it would be our victory," the minister said.
Besides, the Sindh government was working to update the modern curriculum which could not only help students to pass exams but also help them to learn more about new things which would also help new generation to eliminate copy culture, he said.
To reply to another question, he said that the democracy had become very strong and no one could destabilise at this time.
Earlier, addressing the gathering of the convocation, the Education Minster said that Sindh government was taking all efforts to promote the education of public sector and at the same time, performance and contribution of private sector for education could be praiseworthy in the province. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Executive Brovos Cadet School System, Flight Lft Syed Musarat Shah (Retired) said that the school was not only providing standard education to the students but also providing the education of values and moral which enabled them to live with others peacefully.
Later, the minister distributed medals and shields among the position holder students of the school.
