Pakistan's High Commissioner-designate to Maldives, Syed Sail Abbas, High Commissioner-designate to Singapore, Tanveer A. Khaskheli and High Commissioner -designate to Brunei Darussalam Brigadier Muhammad Zareef (Retd) Malik separately called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday and discussed matters pertaining to their new assignments.
The President felicitated the newly appointed envoys and urged them to focus on further deepening Pakistan's bilateral relations and multifaceted co-operation with the countries of their respective posting. The President on the occasion highlighted that present government attaches great importance to the development of trade and economic co-operation as an integral part of its foreign policy objectives. He urged the need for robust pursuance of economic diplomacy by all the diplomats to further strengthen economic footprints of Pakistan in the world markets.
The President said that Pakistan enjoys close and cordial relations with Maldives, Singapore and Brunei and expressed hope that the newly appointed envoys would work with full devotion for further cement Pakistan's trade and commercial ties with these countries. The envoys designate thanked the President for reposing confidence in them and assured that they would do their best to augment Pakistan's bilateral relations with the countries of their posting with particular focus on broadening trade, business and investment ties.-PR
