Zarai Tarraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) share in the country's agri credit market declined to 19.9 percent during 2012-13 from 31.8 percent in 2009-10 and the outstanding agri loans touched Rs 108 billion mark during July-December 2013. Sources in the Finance Ministry said ZTBL share in the country's agriculture credit market witnessed a steady decline during last four years and gone down from 31.8 percent in 2009-10 to 24.8 percent in 2010-11.
The bank's share in agri credit market further decreased to 22.5 percent in 2011-12 and then to 19.4 percent in 2012-13. Additionally, sources said the ZTBL outstanding loans were relatively higher than disbursements during January-December 2013 with loan disbursement of Rs 71 billion and outstanding agri loans estimated at Rs 108 billion.
Punjab tops with Rs 88.777 billion outstanding agri loans followed by Sindh Rs 13.772 billion, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 4.922 billion, Gilgit-Baltistan with outstanding ZTBL loans of Rs 472.070 million and Balochistan Rs 354.589 million. The ZTBL outstanding loans in Azad Kashmir stood at Rs 429.302 million. The total disbursement has been made on two accounts - farm disbursement and non-farm disbursement.
Total farm loan disbursement in the country was recorded at Rs 61 billion during January-December 2013 and non-farm loan disbursement at Rs 9.421 billion. The non-farm loan disbursement was considerably higher in Azad Kashmir compared to farm loans - Rs 36 million farm-loans and Rs 257 million non-farm loans. Disbursement of non-farm loans by ZTBL was recorded at Rs 140.221 million in Gilgit-Baltistan against Rs 139 million farm-loans.
The ZTBL farm-loans disbursement stood at Rs 50.264 billion in Punjab during January-December 2013 and non-farm loans Rs 7.390 billion. The total agriculture loan disbursement was recorded at Rs 57.655 billion in Punjab. The farm loans disbursement in Sindh stood at Rs 8.314 billion and non-farm Rs 957.755 million during the period. The total farm and non-farm loan disbursement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was Rs 3.428 billion with Rs 2.937 billion farms loans and Rs 491 million non-farm loans. Balochistan received farm loans of Rs 173.630 million and Rs 3.664 million non-farm loans during the period.
