The Inter-Media Cricket tournament organised by Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited (PTCL) continues in full swing here in the federal capital. The tournament, organised in collaboration with National Press Club, comprises teams belonging to national and international print and electronic media. The tournament, which earlier kicked-off with an exhibition match between PTCL-XI and National Press Club XI, was inaugurated by Engineer Shaukatullah Khan.
The first round saw thrilling matches between various teams which competed fiercely to reach the second round. In the first match, GEO TV, put into bat first, made 115-7 in eight overs, while Abb Takk TV achieved the target in 7.4 overs at the loss of 4 wickets only. In the second match, Daily Azkar beat Nawa-I-Waqt by 10 runs, while the third match proved to be a thriller, where Daily Samma beat Jang by 1 run.
As the tournament progressed, Inter News beat Journalist-XI by four wickets by reaching a stiff target of 115 in the last over and Dunya News beat Media-XI by 14 runs. Similarly, Kashmir Media-XI beat Samma TV by 8 wickets, while ATV beat APP in a one sided match by 67 runs. Metro Watch conquered Daily Pakistan by 37 runs. Dawn News beat Sindhi Media-XI by 7 wickets, while ARY news beat Daily Dunya by 5 wickets. Express News beat Khabrain by 3 wickets, while Foreign Media-XI moved to the second round by beating Aaj TV by 54 runs. The second round of the tournament will start tomorrow.
PTCL believes that healthy minds and healthy bodies are a key driver of success and contribute greatly to the success and growth of societies.
