Paul Pogba visits Mecca ahead of World Cup showdown
French footballer Paul Pogba is on a pilgrimage to Islam's holiest city of Mecca ahead of World Cup campaign in Russia.
French international shared a video of himself in Mecca on Tuesday with the caption, "Allahu Akbar. God is the greatest".
He said, “Only the person who comes here, that can understand the feeling. So I hope the people that never been here yet, they all will one day.” He added, “This a beautiful place. I cannot explain my feeling here. Inshallah you all will come here one day. Salam”.
The 24-year-old became the most expensive footballer in the history back in 2016, after Manchester United paid Juventus a reported £89 million (USD 114 million) fee.
However, this crown was overtaken by another footballer, Neymar, who inked the world record deal with Paris Saint Germain (PSG) last year.
