Ombudsman Punjab, Javed Mahmood has set up "Mohtasib Punjab Pension Cell" at all districts of the province to safeguard the rights of pensioners, collect their complaints and dispose them of the same at district level. Advisors to Ombudsman Punjab at Regional Offices in each district have been made in charge of "Mohtasib Punjab Pension Cell" of concerned district.
This was stated by Wazir Ahmad Qureshi, in charge of Mohtasib Punjab Pension Cell while addressing participants in "Pensioners' Day" at Ombudsman Office Lahore. A number of pensioners, family members of deceased pensioners present on the occasion, lodged complaints about delay in pension, non payment of GP Fund, Benevolent Fund, Group Insurance, Gratuity and other financial benefits of retired employees. Wazir Ahmad Qureshi said there will be good news soon about double pension issue of pensioners attaining the age of 75 years. Retired employees would not have to visit Lahore to get redressed their grievances as Regional Offices of Ombudsman Punjab are fully functional in all the districts of province and empowered to collect and resolve the complaints at district level.
