Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday granted bail to official of Sindh local government department in a case pertaining to embezzlement of Rs 61.284 million public funds. A division bench, headed by Chief Justice Maqbool Baqar, allowed post-arrest bail to accused Barkat Ali Ujjan against a surety of Rs 5 million. The bench ordered the relevant authorities to place the name of the accused on exit control list till the conclusion of the NAB reference against him.
Barkat, a section officer of Sindh local government department, had been booked for allegedly helping Ahmed Khan Abro, former administrator, Thul, Jacobabad district, in illegally drawing an amount of Rs 65 million meant for developmental work.
