Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday issued notice to Sindh Chief Secretary, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) Managing Director, city police chief and other respondents to file comments on a petition against illegal water hydrants in the city. A division bench, headed by Justice Irfan Saddat Khan, also issued notice to provincial law officer to file comments in response to the petition and adjourned hearing of the case till May 20.
The petitioner, Sohail Ali Arain, drew attention of the court to the issue of illegal hydrants and water shortage in the city, stating that illegal hydrants were being operated in the city but no satisfactory action was taken, as some KWSB officials were also involved in such illegal activities.
