National ICT R&D Fund established under Ministry of Information Technology, is committed to promote R&D in ICTs with the vision to transform Pakistan's economy into knowledge based economy donated 600 student kits to three interested charitable organisations; Faiz-ul-Islam Rawalpindi, Read Foundation Islamabad and Edhi Foundation Islamabad, says a press release issued here on Saturday.
Syed Wasim Hashmi, Program Head, Prime Minister's National ICT Scholarship Program (PM NICTSP) while apprising on the scholarship program said that "National ICT R&D Fund imparts "Foundation Training" to eligible students of undeserved areas of Pakistan including GB, AJ&K and FATA that register to compete for Prime Minister's National ICT Scholarship Program under which, so far more than 4,200 scholarships worth up to Rs 3.3 billion have been awarded to talented students of undeserved areas out which 1125 have graduated."
Equipping these candidates (free of cost) with modern pedagogical techniques to take the entrance tests of ICT related undergraduate programs of top HEC recognised universities, they are also provided Students Kits comprising a bag, MCQ Based Test Training Manual and stationary items. Representatives of the charitable organisations lauded the gesture of National ICT R&D Fund that helps their children to prepare for the entrance exams and motivates them for pursuing the higher education.
Earlier, Yasir Qadir, CEO National ICT R&D Fund said that the real value lies in development of ICT based human resource development that can change the dynamics of our economy. We need to put our act together to change the socio-economic landscape of the country. Yasir also appreciated the efforts and selfless contributions of the charitable organisations.-PR
