Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) took out rallies in support of Pakistan Army and ISI in eight districts of Punjab, including Sialkot, Sahiwal, Jhang, Okara, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Pakpattan and Vehari on Sunday. The participants of these largely attended rallies were carrying placards condemning elements who were trying to defame and malign the Pakistan Armed forces that guarantee national unity, cohesion, solidarity, integrity, national security and defence of the fatherland.
The PML-Q is also presenting a resolution in the Punjab Assembly today (Monday) in support of the Army and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The party ruled the country including Punjab province from 2002 to 2007.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said that successful rallies of PML-Q have proved that the people were with the Armed Forces of Pakistan. "We would fully and actively support and stand with them," he added.
Talking to media persons on the occasion of his party's enthusiastic and grand rallies taken out on Sunday to express solidarity with the armed forces, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said "we would firmly and sternly oppose the agenda against the armed forces, be it from the govt or anywhere else, we would stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them Insha Allah like the people were standing with the armed forces"
He said the PML would also present a resolution on Monday (today) in the Punjab Assembly to express solidarity with the Armed Forces of Pakistan.
Heartily felicitating party leaders and workers on taking out such grand rallies on behalf of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and himself, he said that Muslim League were always united and alert to protect and defend honour and prestige of Pakistan and its armed forces.
Speaking about rigging of last general elections, Pervez Ilahi said that all the opposition parties are united on the issue and the members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should morally resign from their posts.
