At least 10 persons were injured in a roadside bomb blast near Rangers Headquarters in the remits of North Nazimabad police station, here on Wednesday. According to Sub-Inspector Nawaz Gondal, the bomb, which was planted in a motorcycle, was detonated through a remote control device, in which 10 persons were injured. Following the incident, heavy contingent of police, Rangers and rescuers rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical assistance.
Later, all adjoining streets and roads were cordoned off by law enforcers, which led to massive gridlock on the main road for almost an hour. According to Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), some four kg explosive materials were used in the blast.
