Deputy Inspector General of CIA Police Sultan Ali Khwaja on Wednesday claimed that police killed two notorious gangsters in an encounter in the jurisdictions of Garden police station. Addressing a press conference at his office, he said that the encounter took place on Lyari Expressway during the early hours of Wednesday wherein two gangsters, Muhammad Ali alias Babu, son of Gul Muhammad, and Syed Nazim, son of Syed Kaleem, were critically injured in exchange of firing with Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of police.
However, they succumbed to their injuries on the way to Civil Hospital. SSP AVCC Nasir Aftab, who was also present on this occasion, said that both the accused were associated with the banned Lyari gangster groups. He further said that the accused were involved in over 100 criminal cases. Nasir Aftab said that arrested accused had confessed that Nazim and Babu were involved in street crimes, killing, house robberies, kidnapping for ransom and bank robberies.
