Pakistan Relief Foundation (PRF) has provided drinking water tankers in the various villages of Tharparkar, a drought affected district of Sindh. A team of volunteers led by Haleem Adil Sheikh, former advisor to Chief Minister Sindh and founder chairman PRF. The emergency fresh water supply project for Tharparkar was being implemented in collaboration with Karvan Development Foundation and Danish Muslim Aid.
The emergency water supply project commenced on May 12, and continued till May 17. During five days, water tankers supplied fresh drinking water into the underground home tanks.
25 villages had been supplied fresh tanker water including Roopo Bheel Village, Bhooro Bheel Village, Marso Sarang Village, Samo Rind Village, Kapsro Village Morsiyo Samejo Village, Padrio Village, Jaam Jo Tar Village and many others.
On the occasion, Haleem Adil Shaikh, who is also Chief of PML-Q Sindh chapter, told the local media that Government of Sindh as well as federal government failed to take pre disaster measures. He said that PRF was among the first respondents; our volunteers had visited every nook and corner of district and provided relief to the needy people. He said in recent visit, PRF had provided 90 fresh water tankers in 19 villages of Mithi, Chachro and Tharparkar benefiting over 14000 men, women and children.-PR
