Punjab Assembly here on Thursday under the chair of Acting Speaker Sher Ali Gorchani passed three bills. The bills were: 'The Punjab Livestock Breeding Bill 2014','The Punjab Civil Servants (Amendment) Bill 2014 and 'The passed three bills Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (Amendment) Bill 2014. Opposition on not being allowed to give an adjournment motion against the chair on the issue of a land-grabbing tears off copies of the agenda and protested vehemently in the House.
They further protested on the issue of not being given development fund in their constituencies complaining that first parliamentary year is near completion while they did not receive funds allocated for opposition. Minister Tanvir Aslam giving replying to queries said two Ashiana Schemes have been initiated by the Punjab Government in Lahore. He disclosed that these schemes are Ashiana Quaid, Attari Saroba (686 kanals), Ashiana-e-Iqbal, Burki Road (3,100 kanal).
Minister said in period 2008 to 2012, one interchange, one underpass and two head bridges were constructed under the supervision of TIPA in Lahore. Minister to a question said PHA Lahore completed 19 projects in Lahore in period 2012-13. Opposition Leader Mahmud-u-Rasheed later talking to journalists during the day said they would continue with their protest for not being allowed to present resolution regarding election reforms and non-availability of funds. He said they would not allow treasury to subdue opposition in Punjab Assembly pointing that they would continue struggle for their rights. The House was later adjourned by the chair for today (9:00am).
