Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government allocated 100 per share in budget for health, education: two-day Digital Youth Summit concludes
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health and IT Shahram Khan Tarakai has said the government has been allocated 100 per share in upcoming fiscal year budget 2014-15 for development of health and education sectors in the province.
Talking to media persons here after attending the concluding ceremony of the two-day "Digital Youth Summit 2014, organised by the Department of Information Technology in collaboration with KP IT Board and the Work Bank, the Minister said the government would fulfil legitimate and genuine demands of the protesting young doctors, as negotiations were under way in this regard.
Expressing his concern over the step-motherly attitude of the Punjab government with KP, he urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take notice about announced restriction on movement of wheat from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the Punjab was taking unfair advantage of production of wheat in the province. "KP is larger producer of electricity and gas, so then we will stop supplying electricity, if the Punjab doesn't shun the step-motherly treatment, the Minister said.
Earlier, speaking at the Youth Summit, Minister Shahram Tarakai said the government was taking all possible steps for creation of job opportunities for unemployed youth in the province. He said the government has planned to establish information technology excellence centre in the province, wherein the foreign IT experts would deliver lectures. He said that a two system facilitation centres would be set up in Peshawar and the network would be extended at Tehsil and districts level.
About the Youth Summit, he said it would provide job opportunities to youth and develop liaison among various local and multi-national companies to easily marketing their products in the global market. "We are doing all-out efforts to fulfil needs and requirement of IT experts and youth, so they can make difference," the Minister said. The Youth Summit closing ceremony was also attended by provincial Secretary Education Farukh Khan, Managing Director of Department of Information Technology Siddiqullah, KP IT Board Director Marketing Shahnaz Shamsher, officials of Work Bank, Department of IT, and representatives of various companies and donor agencies.
