ICE Canadian canola futures settled higher on Wednesday for a third straight session, boosted by steep gains in soybean futures at the Chicago Board of Trade, traders said. Cool weather and a slow pace of seeding in the Canadian Prairies added support, along with crusher buying. July canola settled up $4.30 at $493.70 per tonne on volume of 5,354 contracts.
New crop November ended up $3.70 at $491.00 on volume of 7,328 contracts. Chicago Board of Trade July soybeans settled up 35-1/2 US cents at US $15.05-1/4 per bushel. July soyoil settled up 0.40 US cent at 40.47 US cents per lb. NYSE Liffe Paris August rapeseed eased 0.1 percent.Malaysian August palm oil fell 0.75 percent.
