Iraq's state grains board has bought a total 150,000 tonnes of hard wheat to be sourced from Russia in a tender which closed this week, European traders said on Wednesday. The tender sought shipment from August 1 to August 31 with delivery between September 1 and October 14.
The purchase comprised 100,000 tonnes bought from Glencore at $324.55 a tonne c&f free out and 50,000 tonnes bought from CBH Grain at $328.89 a tonne c&f free out. The tender closed on Monday and offers had to remain valid up to Thursday, May 23. The purchase was in line with offers submitted earlier in the tender. Volumes in Iraq's wheat tenders are nominal and the country frequently buys more than it tenders for.
