Five people, including a soldier of an intelligence agency, were killed and two bodies have been recovered and four others were injured in separate incidents of violence in the city on Saturday. According to police and rescue sources, Sajid Ihsan, 35, son of Imam Bux, an intelligence agency's soldier was shot and killed by unidentified assailants when he offered resistance in a robbery bid near Hazara Chowk located in Orangi Town No-5, in the limits of Peerabad police station.
Sub-Inspector Ghazan Zada said the incident occurred in the morning when Sajid Ihsan was near Hazara Chowk when two unknown motorcyclists tried to snatch money and other valuables form him, when he offered resistance, robbers opened fire and killed him on the spot and managed to flee from the crime scene. The deceased recently came to Karachi to spend his holidays with kith and kin from the Okara city.
In the meantime, Peerabad police launched raid against robbers in the area, and claimed to have killed one of the dacoits near Al-Khidmat Hospital located in Orangi No-5. The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. The identity of the deceased dacoit could not be ascertained. No FIR was registered till filing of the report. Two bodies with gunshot were found in Surjani Town.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Waheed, 25, son of Musafir Brohi, and Danish, son of Muhammad Aslam. The bodies were found from Abdul Rahim Goth Graveyard located in Surjani Town in the jurisdictions of Surjani police station on Saturday morning. Sub-Inspector Nasir said the victims were missing from New Karachi industrial area since Friday night. "Unidentified people might have abducted, and then killed them, and later their bodies were dumped at Abdul Rahim Goth Graveyard." The bodies bore 4 bullet wounds each in different parts; however no torture mark was visible, SI Nasir added. He said both the bodies have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
A man was shot and killed by unknown people in Lyari. The body of the deceased was shifted to Karachi Civil Hospital for medico-legal action. A 30-year-old man was gunned down by unknown man near the graveyard located in Qazafi Town in Korangi. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for post-mortem. Meanwhile, three persons were injured when activists of two political parties clashed in 5-Star Chowrangi, North Nazimabad. The injured people were shifted Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
