The conditions of 56 children of private school in Mingora city of district Swat deteriorated after taking measles preventive injections. According to reports a team of the Department of Health, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administered anti-measles injections to the children of a private school in Rang Mohallah area of Swat. After the passage of sometime the conditions of the children deteriorated and were shifted to Saidu Sharif Hospital.
In the meantime, because of a large number of patients several children were laid on the one bed. After taking injections the children got severe fever, at the same time, they started vomiting and become unconscious. The parents of the children have demanded investigation about the incident, besides, most of them had declined administering measles preventive injection.
After the incident district administration had suspended the campaign in the affected union council. Assistant Commissioner (AC) Babuzai, Ashfaq Khan has told the media that the injections have been checked and none of them was expired. However, he said that the department of health has been directed for conducting complete investigation in this regard. On the other hand, Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS), Saidu Sharif Hospital said that reaction after anti-measles injection is routine matter and said that the conditions of all those children brought to the hospital were stable.
