Apropos 'PM briefed on PSDP priorities' carried by Business Recorder on Saturday, prime minister Nawaz Sharif appears to be highly optimistic about his government's vision in relation to development spending. He has reportedly stated that his government has embarked upon the road to progress and the country will usher in an era of prosperity.
According to him, the development projects will not only create millions of job opportunities in the country but also raise the living standards of our people. That the prime minister has appreciated the significance of development projects with a view to raising the existing economic growth rate is a fact that has found its best expression in the postponement of a meeting of annual Plan Co-ordination Committee (APCC). The delay is no attributable to any bureaucratic procrastination; it is because of the fact that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed dissatisfaction over the proposed allocation and priorities for different projects finalised by finance and planning, development and reforms ministries.
