Tripping of extra high tension line: many city areas face hours' long power suspension
Various areas of the city faced power supply suspension for hours, when K-Electric's 220 KV Extra High Tension Line tripped on Monday evening. Electricity supply to various areas including Defence, Clifton, Ghizri, Malir, Lyari, North Nazimabad, and Sadar remain suspended for hours creating difficulties for the masses.
A K-Electric spokesman said that only 11 grid stations out of the total 62 grid in Karachi tripped. However, the K-Electric technical team has been working on restoration of electricity as some nine affected grid stations were restored while two were expected to be repaired before 12:00 am, he added.
