Policy to be evolved for technical training in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Tevta chief
A comprehensive policy would be evolved for development of technical training and education with consultation of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, local industries and other relevant stakeholders. This was stated by Chairman Technical Education and Vocational Training Agency (TEVTA), Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Nuaman Wazir while addressing a workshop here in Peshawar on Monday.
Foreign consultants briefed the local vocational experts about National Vocational Qualification Framework (NVQF) that the purpose of conducting regional consultation workshop is to gain feedback from provincial stakeholders for producing a comprehensive draft of NVQF related to purpose, structure and implementation of the framework.
Vocational and training education has to be made according to ground realities with the realisation of market demand, said provincial Chairman Tevta. Implementation must be insured for only drafting and rules could not resolve the problems pertaining to technical education, he added. He said that experiences gained through the period of pilot have provided the basis for review of the NVQF document with the aim of confirming ideas that are still valid and workable, modification and strengthening of those areas that need modification, development and inclusion of new items that are necessary to result in a coherent and well-documented NVQF. He emphasised experts to study education in a viable and useful framework for the implementation of vocational education working with all the necessary tips that modernise vocational education.
