The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani has said that police jawans who are becoming stumbling block in the way of terrorists are the real asset of the force and their un-matching performance would be written in the annals of history in golden words. This he said while addressing an award distribution ceremony of Malakand Region police at CPO Peshawar on Monday.
The ceremony was arranged to award police jawans of three district ie Swat, Chitral and Buner police on their excellent performance against the terrorists and sectarian killer. It is pertinent to mention that two police jawans of Swat district were on beat duty in the vicinity of the clinic of Dr Farooq. When they received the information about the presence of suspected suicide bomber in the said clinic and cry of the patients present there, they immediately rushed to the spot and safely evacuated the inmates to a safer location after firing on the suicide bomber.
Owing to the presence of mind and exemplary gallantry of the two police jawans a huge human causality was averted. While the Buner police in a raid on a house has recovered huge quantity of explosive materials and arrested three terrorists. Similarly the Chitral police have arrested the sectarian killer after he killed three persons of a family and was fleeing to Gilgit along with the Kalashnikov at Gilgit border. Speaking on the occasion the IGP highly commended the efforts of awardees in the said three incidents.
The IGP said that especially the in time action of Swat police jawans has saved many precious lives of the patients and doctor Farooq in the clinic. The Police Chief said that Buner police have put their precious lives in extreme dangers but thwarted the nefarious designs of the terrorist by arresting the terrorists and recovering huge quantity of explosive material from their possession, while the Chitral police have become a stumble block in the way of fleeing sectarian killer. He said that police duty was full of challenges and every jawans should demonstrate extra vigilance during duty.
He encouraged the awardees and urged them to come to the rescue of the oppressed people of the society at all cost. On this occasion the police chief awarded the police officers and jawans with commendation certificates and cash prizes. They included Constable Khan Zada and Umar Muhammad of Swat police, Additional SHO police station Gagra Bakht Afsar Khan, Sub Inspector Farrukh Sair, SPO Siraj Muhammad and lady constable Musarrat of Buner police and SHO police station city Inspector Iqbal Kareem of Chitral police.
