Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Co-Chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari has asked provincial ministers, advisors and special assistants belonging to PPP to improve their performances, otherwise their portfolios will be changed or they will be removed. This he said while addressing a party meeting at Bilawal House here on Monday. The former President chaired the meeting while PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, MNA Faryal Talpur, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, provincial ministers, advisers, special assistants, MPAs and others were attended the meeting.
Sources said that Zardari was briefed about provincial budget of the outgoing financial year and he took serious notice of lapse of huge development funds by various departments. He was also briefed about the upcoming Sindh Budget and the Annual Development Programme (ADP) of 2014-15, sources said. On the occasion, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari took keen interest in budget briefing and asked many questions.
Some of the ministers briefed Zardari about the performance of their departments and utilisation of funds allocated in Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2013-14. Asif Zardari warned the ministers and advisors that if they could not perform as per his expectation, their portfolio would be changed or they would be removed from the cabinet.
He said that he knew there were few energetic new faces in Sindh Assembly and they might be given chance to serve the province. According to sources, it was decided in meeting that a committee will be constituted which will monitor and evaluate the performances of ministers and advisors.
