Dozens of tribal students, belonging to various agencies of Fata on Monday staged a protest demonstration against ignoring second-shift students in Prime Minister Scholarship program. The protest was headed by Fata students' organisation central President Shaukat Aziz, president Khyber agency Abid Afridi, Kurramn Agency president Zabta Khan Mengal, and Information secretary Irshad Afridi and scores of tribal students. Talking to media persons, the tribal students said that the scholarship wasn't dispatched to certain department of the public sector universities and creating difficulties for them by using various tactics.
According to the protesting students, said that the university administrations had asked the tribal students belonging to Bajuar agency, are not eligible for the PM scholarship program, without citing any specific reason of that, they added. The tribal students termed it was complete unjust with militancy-affected student of the Fata, and urged the government to end the discrimination immediate and provide scholarship to more than 160 tribal students of second-shift, studying in various public sector universities in KP.
