Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) has initiated training courses on traditional wax painting along with Zaree and copper work on Monday under its historic Gor Khatri archaeological complex project. The main purpose of these courses is to revive the dying art and craft of the Peshawar through transfer of skills and to provide the traditional heritage as well as to train more people to preserve and promote it.
Commenting on this activity, Managing Director TCKP said, "The aim of these trainings is to spread awareness among the youth about our dying arts." He further said that trainees will learn this skill and then set up shops for themselves through which their employment opportunities will increase. It's a healthy learning experience and in coming months two more such trainings are also in the pipeline, he added.
