Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's National Accountability Bureau on Tuesday arrested three persons on the charges of causing huge losses to national exchequer by supplying substandard science laboratories' equipment, stationary items, uniforms at an exorbitant rate and that too in the name of fake firms.
Those arrested are: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Workers Welfare Board's Project Officer, Abdul Waheed Qureshi, owner of Ashraf Enterprises/Litigation Officer, UBL State Life Building Branch, Mohammad Asghar Awan, and a partner in Ashraf Enterprises, Manzoor Ahmad Ghauri. According to sources, the entire process was conducted in violations of PPRA Rules and without adopting genuine bidding process. Taking cognisance of public complaints, KPK's NAB authorised inquiry against the accused persons which reportedly established the allegations.
